I'm still pinching myself. Way back in October of 2020, while nursing my disappointment over leaving the film biz, I had the opportunity to talk about another pursuit. As a guest on the Inglorious Treksperts podcast, I had the rare opportunity to revisit my life as a teenaged Trekkie with hosts Mark A. Altman, Daren Docterman and Ashley Miller.
As I shared a handful of faded photos and old stories, I began to think—there’s something more here. It took a good six months to gather my materials, and another six after that to begin writing in earnest, but in September of 2022 the first issue of When We Were Trekkies was published. And the next nine issues followed on a more-or-less bimonthly schedule.
And here we are, with all ten issues collected in a clean poly bag, ready for sale. I still can't quite believe it.
Tomorrow morning I'll be performing the Picard maneuver before setting course for the Hyatt Regency SFO and the Trek to San Francisco con.
