Small Press in South City!

Our next stop on the '24 Trekkies Tour.

Someone said that with strong and clear visualization, you can manifest anything. I haven't found any bags of unclaimed money laying around (yet) but I'm very happy to report that the calendar is filling up with events and opportunities to promote my work. Case in point:

April features a month-long celebration at all libraries throughout San Mateo County, including Burlingame, Daly City, Menlo Park, Redwood City, San Bruno, and San Mateo. The Penninsula Libraries Comics Arts Fest has presented engaging comics events since 2015, hosting many well-established authors, as well as budding debut authors. They’ve also held small press expos highlighting local creators and workshops for writing and illustrating.

The next Kickoff event will be on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the new South San Francisco Library and Parks & Recreation Center—and just this week I was accepted as an exhibitor! The Small Press Comics Expo will include over 40 local artists and comix creators, as well as several speakers and presentations. You can get the full story here.

Everyone who has driven north to San Francisco on 101 has seen that hillside with the giant letters proclaiming “South San Francisco The Industrial City.” Well, there's more going on than that, as exemplified by the elegant new library (and for the benefit of out-of-towners, let me point out that SSF is its own municipality, and not part of the storied City by the Bay.)

In addition to selling my comics, I'll be sketching for kids and mingling with fellow artists. It’s FREE and fun for the whole family—we’d love to see you there!
