Once more into the breach we go...

Saturday, April 4 marks the start of this year's comic cons, zine fests, and other events designed to put us creators in touch with our fans. I'll be tabling for the third time (or is it fourth...?) at the Peninsula Libraries Small Press Comics Expo, which kicks off a month of activities in the county of San Mateo.
It’s an appropriately low key show that is often a gateway for some of the youngest comics readers in the Bay Area. The guests tend to be family-friendly and familiar to Scholastic graphic novel readers. I like it because I get to meet lots of new fans, hang out with local colleagues, and the organizers—all librarians, its seems—are some of the nicest folks around. (Plus it's just 10 minutes from home with plenty of free parking ;-)
But seriously, I'm also excited to be carrying some of my brother and sister-in-law's comics to the show as well. R. Sikoryak and Kriota Willberg may not be making comics for the elementary school crowd, but I hope there will be a few readers looking for challenging graphic memoir and high concept literary mashups. At the very least, I look forward to the conversation ahead! Hope to see you at the South San Francisco Library & Parks and Recreation Center from 10am until 4pm.
Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!
