Upcoming convention appearances and more!

I really miss doing shows, especially when they're so far apart that I've completely forgotten how exhausting those weekends can be. It's been two months since my last show (Galaxy Con San Jose) but as often happens, my next two appearances are bunched up one week after another. Fortunately I come prepared.

On Saturday, Nov. 7, I'll be making my debut appearance as exhibitor at the Short Run Comix Festival in Seattle, one of the larger and more exciting small press expos. I dropped in as an attendee in 2024 and was suitably impressed by the size of the exhibition floor (200 vendors!) and the number of attendees (5000!). This year I'll be showing my wares in their new and larger venue at the Seattle Design Center, to a particularly enthusiastic group of comic fans. It's established within the publishing industry that folks in the Pacific Northwest are more avid readers than average—maybe its due to the high percentage of days in the region better spent indoors.

I'm excited to have my biggest array of books and merch on offer, including a new set of fan art cards (based on my June Toon Challenge) and the debut of Three by Three, a 40-page compilation of strips created for Patreon. If you're in The Emerald City this weekend, I hope that you can come by to say hi! And if you aren't, you can always order a copy of my books on my website.

Or... you can drop in the fourth annual Berkeley Public Library Comic Con on November 14 (like I said, when it rains it pours). This is a much easier show for me to attend (just a few stops away on BART) but just as exciting in its own way. I'll no doubt know a higher percentage of the cartoonists at the show, and I love chatting with local fans whom I might run into again at stores and events more frequently. We have some powerhouse creators in the Bay Area including a few I know personally!

And before the year is out, I'll also be attending EBABZ (the East Bay Alternative Book and Zine Fest) on December 14. Even though it will be happening a just few blocks from the Library show, I'm expecting a completely different audience, less family oriented and definitely more adventurous. After which, I'll no doubt be ready for a break before an anticipated trifecta of shows in March and April. But more on that later.

Thanks for reading and I hope to see you at one of my tables!
